Personal Information

I received the BS degree in computer science from Peking University, China, in 1997 and MS degree in computer science from Seoul National University, Korea, in 2000. I got my D.Sc degree in computer science at The George Washington University, in May 2007. My primary research interests fall in the field of computer graphics, medical image processing, image guided surgery, computer vision and computer animation with emphasis on 3D reconstruction, medical image registration, image based modeling and rendering, computational photography and hand motion animation. I am a student member of the IEEE, SPIE, MICCAI and ACM SIGGRAPH.

Research Interests

My primary research area is computer graphics. During my graduate study in Seoul National University, I have been concentrating on volume rendering, virtual endoscopy and ultrasound simulators. In my doctoral study in George Washington University, my research interests have been broadened to image based modeling and rendering, computer animation, global illumination for infrared target simulation, medical simulations, GPU based volume redering, computational photography, camera calibration, 3D reconstrution, structured light based surface scanning, feature tracking, optical flow, image processing, image guided surgery, medical image registration, numerical optimizations and etc.

Computer Skills
I am familiar with C++ and C, Visual Studio .Net, Visual Studio 6.0, MFC, JAVA(JAI and JAVA 3D), OpenGL, DirectX, Matlab 6.0, OpenCV. I have developed most of my research project in Windows platform with Visual C++.
